Chloe Whitman was the third child of Deac. Isaiah Whitman and Chloe Phillips. Born 30 August 1793 in Bridgwater, MA and died 11 November 1865 Charlemont, MA, with burial in Village Cemetery.
She married James Whitman 29 April 1812, he the son of
Ebenezer and Lydia Whitman.
"James and Chloe were brought up in the same
neighborhood, attended the same school and meetings. Both
experienced religion and united with the Congregational
Church in 1823, and had their children sprinkled. Finally
changed their views and became Universalists under which
belief they passed of the stage of action into
eternity."
