Silas Belden, son of Jonathan and Mary Wright Belden, was born in Wethersfield, Connecticut 29 July 1691 and died there in the autumn of 1741. He had married Abigail Robbins in Wethersfield 30 November 1716 by Rev. Stephen Mix. She died 16 February 1783 in Wethersfield.

The children of Silas and Abigail were:

1) Silas, born 13 November 1717.

2) Abigail, born 4 November 1720.

3) Joshua, born 19 July 1724.

4) Charles, born 4 May 1728.

5) Lydia, born 1 May 1730.

6) Oliver, born 19 November 1732.

+7) Jonathan, born 16 November 1737, married Sarah Belding 22 March 1759, died 9 January 1778.
